AROUND THE WORLD

New Zealand has given the left wing government the biggest majority since the introduction of proportional representation.

Bolivia has it seems reinstated a left wing government – votes still being counted, but opposition has conceded defeat.

Western Europe in differing degrees of difficulty regarding Covid-19 increases. Ok Mr. Johnson you are not alone in incompetency – just better at it than most!

China economy rapidly increasing. Covid appears under control.

I am just going to look up Japan – what would you predict? An ageing population, efficient and organised and compliant government/society? So I am predicting low levels – here goes. Well it is very low – this article is interesting

South Korea with comprehensive test, track and trace and isolate seems to be on top of it.

Brazil and India both have right-wing populist leaders and both seem to be happy to sacrifice thousands of lives to their political agendas. Peru – one of the worst hit countries per capita. Lima and Amazonas both hit hard?

Africa – I hate using a whole continent as an example – but it is interesting in lots of ways. Firstly the numbers tested is minuscule compared to Europe and USA. Secondly, accepting this, the death rate should have risen – it has not! Thirdly is this because of the much lower median age of population? Fourthly, poverty is higher in Africa than any other continent so we should be expecting high levels of infection with people crowded together.

Vanuatu – hit by Cyclone Harold but virus free.
