“We will throw everything at Omicron” – as long as it is only vaccines. And even then we will water down the rules for a vaccine passport. Also an interesting amount of money @ £22 a shot! Schools are unaffected by Omicron apparently and do not need extra ventilation – where are the air quality testing kits? Regardless of covid I can list many classrooms that need better ventilation full stop – influenza, etc. and with supply teachers costing £180 a day it is worth schools investing in health measures to keep teachers safe (obviously these measures benefit all the students too).

I am going to start a new list of covid cases as it seems this government cannot be trusted. So data from 7 December.

It has become increasingly clear that our political system is not fit for purpose. The Tories are ripping the party apart with the rabid right wing undermining the centrist element, whilst the same is true of the Labour Party with the Corbyn left being marginalised.

So there will be a vote on the new restrictions next week with leading tories like Fox, Davis, McVey and Clark stating that they are unnecessary band too harsh. Meanwhile Scotland and Wales are considering even stronger rules.

Omicron variant likely to suck the fun out of Xmas. It is still hard to interpret the information coming out. predicted doubling time is 2.5 days at present. New cases is highest since January with deaths being constant’s at 120 per day. This last figure needs elaboration please – how many would normally die from influenza, and how many of these deaths had covid as a subsidiary cause?

Is this the word of the year? I was going to say new word – but I am hiding my ignorance!

USA lifts tariffs with EU on steel. But not the UK – because we are not a large trade partner. Another prediction about the disaster that is Brexit, coming home to roost.

Unfortunately the government are too concerned with their own poor behaviour to grasp this nettle and start to build a future.

Further proof of the lack of integrity is the fact that he has not resigned. And that members of his cabinet either continue to pedal lies on his behalf, or hide from the press! And meanwhile the right wing rebel against Plan B covid safety measures quoting ‘freedom’ whilst also voting to stop peaceful protests. Hypocrisy seems to be a requirement for Tories.

Do we actually have a police force? There is a well shared video regarding a party in Downing Street and the police say there is no evidence? What colour are police cars nowadays – I have not seen one for a couple of years? In the past rich people would give money for honours, now it seems that honours are give for silence.

Work from home unless going to a party. Wear a mask unless you are a Tory MP in Parliament. How recent is a recent lateral flow test? And what are the punishments? We know the vast majority will follow the letter of the advice, but is is plain that people from many different parts of society will not. The Met Police obviously will not investigate if Johnson is involved as he has given Cressida Dick honours to ensure her loyalty. (My opinion).
