On a positive note the latest vaccine sounds like good news. However the fact that the numbers above are all up shows that many people disregard the basic rules when legally allowed to do so. I think the motto for this Christmas is don’t kill your relatives! Are you or your children asymptomatic, or have you had a false negative test? It is not worth the risk. It everyone was sensible all the time we would not have this huge spike. A scientist has estimated that we will need 5 days of lockdown for every day of relaxed rules at Xmas. This presumably means that the impact on the NHS in January will be huge, more furlough.
