CRISIS

As it will take a couple of months to select and organise, and the summer holidays are almost upon us, it would probably not be until November if they started organising now. How much longer do they want to try and cover up. Johnson knows that in a legal situation he cannot get away with bluster and bullshit – although I am sure he will try and answer every question with comments about the vaccine roll out. Or arrange political asylum in the West Indies for the whole cabinet!

Sajid Javid got off to a poor start by making semi-promises before he had time to assimilate the evidence sitting in the DHSS.

MoD documents found behind a bus stop – further embarrassment.

And can we have government condemnation of the 2114 abusive tweets received by England footballers since the start of the Euro’s, of which 44 were explicitly racist, or are they worried about upsetting their fan base!!! Surely most of these people (especially the 44) could be identified, prosecuted and be barred from football matches with their phones/computers confiscated and blocked. Perhaps the FA should set up a web site for people to comment (they would have to register with confirmation via a postal address, a passport or driving licence photo, and pay an annual subscription? People can be as critical as they like, offer solutions, but racist or abusive remarks would be followed through legally. Perhaps the FA could make the site attractive with access to players. Interesting that in order of abuse it goes Southgate, Kane, Sterling. Manager, Captain and top scorer. Most footballer supporters I know think they know better than the manager! Kane has been out of form (or poorly provided with opportunities, or professionally marked, and Sterling seems to be quite proliferate in front of goal – but scores, and excites with his speed and skill – but has always received a lot of racist abuse.
