DILEMNA

Vaccination rates are going down amongst the 18-30 age group as expected, and maybe with some justification. However this age group are also the most likely to be the one behind the counter/bar, in uniform at hospitality events.

People round here are reverting to non-mask wearing, although vaccination rates are high. Although case rates are also high, North Somerset 342 per 100000, and Winscombe-Blagdon 485/100000. Classic case on Monday morning: Customer – “Do I have to wear a mask?” – “it is advised but no” – “fuck that then”! The r rate for England is estimated at 1.1=1.4 with one in 65 infected (up from one in 75 a week ago). Whilst Scotland is down from 1 in80 to 1 in 110. However these ONS figures are not reflecting what I see when they say 95% of people are still wearing masks. Maybe their survey of 3784 people should include more people who don’t give a **** and therefore do not participate in the survey.

I am wearing a mask most of the time in the shop, always if there are other customers, less so if just Aaron and Kate.
