FOOTBALL

It seems that the sensible thing to do is bank the money on offer and accept relegation and try to build up a fund over a few years to compete. On finance – Marcus Rashford is on £350000 a WEEK for the next 2 years at ManU who no longer want him! Aston Villa have lost momentum recently, is he a factor? Villa cannot afford his wages but maybe ManU will part fund them to get him off the books.

On which – the money appears obscene but we live in an era of obscenity regarding finance – that an egoistic weasel like Musk can amass $200+ billion is beyond obscene. Wages at the top of industry have become more and more distorted. Back to Marcus Rashford. His career is a short one, if he does not get the money who does? The directors? He, like many footballers and others from working class backgrounds (or at least not privileged) have done more to spread their wealth and influence than many ‘fat cats’. Take the INEOS chairman Jim Ratcliffe, amongst the wealthiest in the UK he bought into ManU, sacked 200 staff, closed tha staff canteen, hiked ticket prices and even moved season ticket holders to make room for more executive suits. Cunt!

In the Championship Sheffield United are dervedly 3rd and favorites for the play offs. But Sunderland (def) – on an epic losing run and Bristol City (poss) are also there. Whilst Bristol City owner Lansdown has a fortune of £2.6 billion and Sunderlands owners £2.1b neither seems over keen to splash the cash. Indeed Lansdown seems to be building a South Western sports empire with rugby and basketball in his portfolio.

Elsewhere – Wrexham continue their dream story with another likely promotion and another film) for Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney – they will have to wait however. Birmingham are back where they belong in the championship.

Whilst in League 2 Bradford are heading for promotion – the largest city with the lowest No! team? At the bottom are Carlisle and Morecombe – transport managers must have broken out the champagne. Forest Vegan Rovers are in the play offs for the National League.

Overseas – business as usual in Germany (Bayern Munich(), France (PSG), Spain prob. Barca, but poss RM, and Italy where Inter have a challenge from a Maradonna less Napoli!

Well thats all, but not forgetting Chelmsford City – mid table as usual.
