So, by all means lets have a relaxation of certain rules, but the data and scientists (who are now being ignored again) are preaching caution. Vaccinating children over 12 seems sensible over the school holiday. Wearing masks on public transport would seem to be a must. retaining the ability to impose local lockdowns if there is an explosion of cases would seem imperative (and the hospitality industry should be made clear that this may happen (rather than the dithering about shown regarding foreign travel). Proper compensation should be provided where this happens. Lets have fewer rules, but can the ones we have be enforced. My local shop was criticised for not enforcing mask wearing, they are not pseudo police officers. Mask wearing helps reduce transmission of Covid, costs nothing, and has no impact on the economy, so keep it. If on the spot fines were dished out for transgressions I am sure it would be easier to encourage compliance, especially if the government itself stuck to rules! And what is being done to increase ventilation in enclosed public places like schools and hospitals, offices and libraries)
