IN THE NEWS TODAY – 28 MARCH

Then there is the vaccine ID – Passport. On the face of it, it seems fine. But what if becomes linked to other data, and we know data is worth lots of money. Surveillance becomes easy and routine on anyone who shoes any form of dissent. Photo ID will be necessary to enable people to vote if the governments proposed bill goes through – despite there being only one case of voter fraud in the last election. It goes back to my belief that this government is run by control freaks (with the main problem being their intellectual inability to control a toaster).

It does not need draconian measures. Some cinemas are talking of having covid secure nights (proof needed) and non-secure nights. No problem until there is a spike in infections. I am wary of any government control but if the virus spread again there would need to be a check. But whilst I would be happy to show proof of vaccination I am not sure I would want to give full details – maybe sign in by hand with contact details decided by me, phone, MOB, email or address. With records to be destroyed after 3 weeks. Of course there will be fraud but this can be dealt with. Could pubs create membership clubs? It would seem an easier option? No proof of anything needed – but an understanding that details would be passed on if there was an outbreak? Visitors would have to sign in and perhaps have to provide more details. Sorted!
