NOT WORKING

I still see adults of both sex’s and ages entering the shop without a mask. Obviously these people have no consideration for others. They would probably argue (with some justification that they are only in the shop for one or two minutes), but that is missing the point.

There seems to be a class issue with poorer people more likely to have to continue working, more likely to travel on public transport, less likely to get tested , self-isolate, live in more crowded conditions, etc.

I also do not understand why someone like Victoria Derbyshire can state that she will break the rule of 6 at Xmas. I know she has withdrawn the comment, but really what do some people think this is all about. My brother pointed out totally correctly, that the basic measures we are being asked to take are insignificant to those necessary to previous generations over the last 110 years.

I have loved cooking xmas dinner for my children and grandchildren for the last couple of years. I am not even going to start planning for this to happen this year. It would, I feel be irresponsible. I will start planning a mega picnic menu for warmer and safer times though.

In fact I might research buying a field. Instal picnic tables, maybe a small sports pitch and a couple of hoops. A wildlife trail with magnifying glasses provided. A portaloo and hand washing facility. Then hire it out for spring/summer feast celebrations. Then work with local food producers and chefs for menu ideas. I would avoid the bbq bit as people do that at home – this would be a special feast day to celebrate the new growth in wildlife. I wonder how much a field generates for a farmer? Oh well dream time again. In reality I will plan a mega picnic style feast for the spring/summer. Kids can go and play in the park around the corner, And munch on lush food as and when.
