SCIENCE, ECONOMICS AND A SNOW DOME

However a regional approach can only work if there are borders that can be managed. Cornwall almost has a defect one with Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor, Exmoor and the River Tamar. For other regions it is more difficult, a quick look at road and rail networks show this. London inevitably needs to be included in any regional lockdown due to its interaction with the rest of the country, and then the commuter hinterland of London and other major cities. When this is done it seems almost impossible to isolate any regions. Sandford is very much in the commuter hinterland for Bristol, and Weston-super-Mare. Bath is commuter belt for both Bristol and London.

It would be so interesting to see figures for this area. Are Congresbury and Wrington worse than Winscombe and Banwell due to Bristol impact. Is Blagdon better off as it is more isolated.
