Presumably another attack on the Anti-Growth Coalition? An admission that renewable energy is cheaper than gas? Presumably the hike in consumer costs is due to the price of gas and the market price for all energy is set by the cost of gas. Taxing these companies must not restrict investment. Perhaps investment in green technology should be given tax incentives. It is relatively quick and could be backed by investing in battery storage like Tessla did in South Australia (read here). OK the S.A. scheme is relatively low scale but seems to have paid for itself quite quickly (2 years) and was installed in 60 days and provides back up for 40000 homes. Batteries have also come a long way since 2016.

The main troubles this government has are related to Brexit. The trade deficit that is growing due to our exit from the worlds major economic bloc. Present economic policy is to try and compensate for the simple trade we had for for 47 years. To disguise and justify shambles that had followed the 2016 vote we are to have a “bonfire of red tape” – i.e. we will destroy all the benefits that workers and the environment developed over those 47 years. The best Sleaze-Dogg could come up with was vacuum cleaner rules and signs in the Dartford Tunnel (every 200m instead of 200Yards!) – what a Pratt! The government will tell us the economy is amongst the strongest in the world – but will it admit to how much stronger it would have been if we had not allowed the Russians to pervert the EU referendum.
