SUNDAY MUSINGS

Firstly on pure educational terms it is extremely stupid to ignore the importance of the first 4/5 years of education on academic and social terms. Under a tory government we have seen child care funding slashed and play schools close. Secondly a carer (usually mother) who cannot afford child care is left with 2 options – an unsuitable alternative “baby sitter” or not going out to work when even they may not be capable of doing the job properly. Mothers wedded to their phones and make up whilst ignoring children. This is not to place all the blame at their door – this country needs intelligent well balanced citizens in the future. Main stream education should not be left to pick up the pieces. Parents of children under 10 should be made to suffer consequences for their actions of littering and anti-social behaviour.

Second – 88% of Labour voters who voted leave think they were wrong. Time for Labour to recognise the elephant in the room first.
