TRAINS VS LORRIES

The cost of 50 lorry drivers for a day each is £12000. I know all my figures are rather random, but are they out by a factor of 8? Round here we have Thatchers and Yeo Valley which I am sure are sending lots of lorries up the motorway – there is surely a more efficient way? Truck drivers could work in general local vicinity – motorways would have less traffic, rail network used more efficiently (and thus deserving better funding after it has been nationalised obviously.
