Proportional representation will perhaps come to this country sometime this century – but do not hold your breath! The Green Party has just got nearly half the votes in a council election in Dorset. The willingness to vote green is there, if the GP can get its act together. Caroline Lucas is a great figure head but is there anyone else of note?
In Weston-super-Mare we have John Penrose – not the worst, nor the best of Tories. On the corruption front his missus has done alright out of Covid despite rank incompetence. The chance of labour overtaking is zero, the LibDems might have a chance. Basically the LibDems and Greens should agree who will stand in this seat and then get their supporters out delivering leaflets. I did deliver some for the Greens a while back, but got no thanks and have not heard since.
So the dilemma – pseudo Labour under Starmer are out. Green would be my favourite if they got their act together. LibDems are fundamentally arch capitalists with a green wash. I will have to make a decision and vote ABC.
