Presumably the weather forecasters get their data from the same satellites and weather stations? Yet the forecast for Friday morning varies from 28% chance of rain BBC – to 80% METO. Temps about the same 5/6C. These predictions are for Sandford. Both predict high winds although the METO are 30-40mph whilst BBC is around 20mph. So we can forget the hyperbole here – it is winter folks, but nothing unusual – no Arctic blast or dusting off the toboggans at the moment.

The government introduced a fast track scheme to attract the world’s greatest and most celebrated brains to the UK. Number of applicants equals zero.
BREXIT is a disaster – please comment if there are any positives – I would love to know.
DEMOCRACY
First past the post is supposed to give us the best form of democracy. An MP we can see and lobby. However in the majority of cases the MP is elected by a minority of the electorate who could vote. Often they may support a view not held by the majority of their own electorate – e.g. a pro-remain Tory elected by a leave voting constituency. Obviously a far from perfect system.
NASTY PARTY
The social care cap is designed to allow the rich to keep more of their housing wealth than the poor. No surprise at all. After all the poor pay a higher proportion of their income in tax anyway. In some ways it was a shock that owners of property worth over £1 million had to pay anything at all.

Consultants being paid £6000- a day (each! the collective cost is over £1 million per day) by NHS test and trace. All part of the £37 billion scam that it is agreed has not met its main objective. I have said many times that the actual facts about Covid spread are opaque – but I could guarantee that I could have organised a more effective scheme for so much less.

He will get a hefty payoff and probably will never actually need to work again so no tears! 7th in the league and 6 points behind West Ham a European Championship place is still possible, but Utd may regret not having acted before the international break like Aston Villa and Norwich. Who would go to Utd? They have tried most types of manager in last 7 years. Their team has potential, but also too many who at present are not looking quite good enough. Rashford and McTominey may look elsewhere to develop their skills, Pogba whilst consistently one of their best players has not shown the leadership qualities of a Gerrard, Lambert or Terry. In fact this is probably their biggest problem – lack of leadership.
FOOTBALL BLAGGING LEAGUE
Archie and Adam get off to a flying start getting Chelsea result spot on. This afternoon sees a record number of fixtures with Liverpool Arsenal being the late fixture. I have put all 5 afternoon games down for a draw! I guess this means that Wolves and WHU will be a draw as it is my only selection with a winner (WHU).
