BREXIT BETRAYAL

I have sympathy over fishing rights – but we sell 70% of the fish to Europe (and I believe a lot of fishing boat owners sold their quotas to other countries too). But if we can conserve fish stocks better -good. I doubt that fishermen will benefit at all! No deal and they will not sell their fish versus deal where there is a 5/7 year sliding scale to something they still will not be that pleased with.

Why Useless Eustace was getting upset about sovereignty was a bit beyond me! The level playing field is important for countries which have high environmental and social protections. If the UK decided that a new EU law (debated by 27 countries remember) was not something that we want to follow, that is fair, but then surely the EU saying they will protect their industry with a tariff is too? We have a right to sovereignty, but they do not?

Northern Ireland seems to have been settled temporarily, but long term will come back like a bad curry!

Meanwhile the docks around the Channel are getting jammed. Containers are in short supply (mainly due to Covid impacts). PPE being imported, trying to pre-empt Brexit problems, transport costs have gone up 4 fold for goods from the Far East.

Basically the supply chain seems to have broken down with empty containers in the UK and EU and a shortage in the east.
