If the double jab is effective, surely those who have had them, and are pinged could test themselves, and if negative carry on working. My local shop has been asked if it can delay its order as 75% of the suppliers workers are self-isolating. Is now the time to lift restrictions when many firms will be unable to open due to the ping! How many people will ignore it, and not self test and then spread the variant. Will the widespread increase in the Johnson variant make another variant more likely?
Politics seems to again be ignoring the science in favour of the economy and the views of a few hare brained twerps. The government points out that there isn’t a magic money tree. However my son has pointed out that that is exactly what there is. Debts from wars a couple of centuries ago have only recently been paid off. So yes the government can go on borrowing money (or creating it! via quantitive easing), but only seems to do so when it is in the interests of investors rather than the population at large.
