Storms Dudley and EU NICE were not unprecedented. However this year has seen very mild weather so far. One frosty morning down here. It seems we may need to get used to storms being stronger rather than more frequent. Insurers are already talking of paying out millions. There would appear to be no easy solutions. Normal bread dough but roll out, spread with herb, garlic, cheese and butter mixture – then bake – adapted from

INGREDIENTS
- 4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats (use certified gluten-free oats for gluten-free granola)
- 1 ½ cup raw nuts and/or seeds (I used 1 cup pecans and ½ cup pepitas)
- 1 teaspoon fine-grain sea salt (if you’re using standard table salt, scale back to ¾ teaspoon)
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ cup melted coconut oil or olive oil
- ½ cup maple syrup or honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅔ cup dried fruit, chopped if large (I used dried cranberries)
- Totally optional additional mix-ins: ½ cup chocolate chips or coconut flakes*
Yoghurt cream, sticky mango or apricots and filo wafers.

The culture war continues. New guidance seems to make teachers avoid issues like racism and empire and colonialism. These topics should be taught in a balanced manner. What does that mean? The Amritsar massacre for example – How does one have a ‘balanced view of a slaughter’? Slavery – ??? And then what is ‘particularly contentious’? or a contested theory? The world is flat? Climate change has nothing to do with people? the Earth was made by god 8000 years ago? Zahawi uses the word fact. Johnson is a liar is a fact is it not?
Another example of the Government trying to micromanage education and its war against compassion, sympathy, empathy, justice and British Values.
