BOOKS

looking for some books I found the World of Books website. So now I have a pile of books to read – all second hand but like new. Mainly cook books “The jam book’, ‘How to hygge’, ‘Rose Elliot’ and a few others. inspiration I hope.

So next week or when my boxes organic clementines, mangoes, lemons, etc. arrive straight from the Spanish farms I will have to get cooking. I also have to try out my new Madieline baking tray.

POINTING THE FINGER

The expanding waiting list for treatment is apparently the fault of the doctors and nurses states Health Secretary Said Javid. Social distancing roles in surgeries to be scrapped and patients will have the right to see a doctor in person. Despite increases in violence towards doctors and the continuing pandemic – yes it is continuing with more than 500 people per week dying- the government is again imposing rules that will please the right wingers. And basically spitting in the face of those who have risked their lives for the benefit of others over the last 20 months.

NUCLEAR FUSION

Potentially a short term answer to climate change? Certainly a lots less radiation and no greenhouse gases once it is up and running. But I know I am thick when it comes to science but if the power generated is converted to heat – surely that will add to the earths temperature?

CO-INCIDENCE

2 days ago I had a Madeleine baking tray delivered as ( thought I would try something new. Speaking to Tamsin this morning she just had a Madeleine baking tray delivered to make clam shaped cakes for Otties birthday.

BREXIT SO FAR

We are told that it has happened and we are better off! Firstly it seems not to have totally happened yet as the Government is still pretending that it did not mean it when it signed the treaty. Liars and thieves.

DO BEARS SHIT IN THE WOODS?

Will the world do anything meaningful to stop climate change? Coal production is being increased across the world, including plans for a new one in the UK, and a new North Sea Oil well to be opened. Unfortunately it seems that all leaders are impervious to facts and actually believe the rhetoric that they dream up. In this country we have a PM who goes on holiday to avoid nasty news. But the rest are just as bad, or worse.

CYNICAL – MOI?

I have to say this. 150000 people in the UK have died from Covid with more dying due to unavailability of NHS beds, etc. Most were over 65. So the government has saved, I read £1-5 billions in pensions, and how much for the NHS by the demise of people with u darling symptoms?

SPATS

Kwasi Kwarteng and Rishi Sunak head to head with Johnson siding with Kwasi – Rishi is much too much of a threat! I don’t much care who wins – Sunak will introduce austerity again whilst Kwarteng is a nasty capitalist to the core. He believes we retire too early, work less hours than we should and have low productivity. I am surprised he is not advocating sweat shops and child labour.
