SATURDAY
Chilly but dry day. Pasta dough in fridge, bread dough rising. Last of tomatoes picked (only a few small ones, but tasty). So Spag Bol for tea. And maybe tomorrow ‘Apple Charlotte”??
I READ THIS AND STARTED DRIBBLING!
I could forget the lamb and just eat these – which I will try out!
DATE AND APPLE SLICE and a gin.
TOMATOES
Definite end to the season. It’s been fantastic, so much fun in picking my own. I reckon I picked about 10 cherry toms per day for at least 3 months. Lots of water (waterbutts). and ok, I will admit to a little tomatorite. Cleaning greenhouse I was surprised to see just how full the pots were with roots! Basically no soil left! And I will start a tomato recipe book here.

COMFORT FOOD
Thins! Wow!
I make lots of crap stuff, but occasionally I get it spot on. And no measurements of key ingredients. I have some chillies, some hot, some not, a handful of rosemary leaves, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt and whizz. then 100gm of flour and 100gm cheddar, and 100g butter. Mix and make into a sausage and freeze for 45/60 minutes. Slice thinly. Oven 180C for 15 minutes or whatever! Good.
CINNAMON ROLLS
With it getting a bit chilly I. am thinking these could be on the menu later in the week. Recipe for cinnamon rolls here. Cinnamon is a definite winter spice.
Just made pizza with a bit of homemade chilli sauce and portobello mushrooms. And thinking about what to bake later this week.
